Sony has announced the winners of its “Artisan of Light” Photography Contest. The contest celebrates the creativity and skill of photographers around the world. Participants submitted images using Sony Alpha cameras. Judges looked for originality, technical quality, and emotional impact.

The Grand Prize went to Maria Chen from Canada. Her photo titled “Stillness in Motion” captured a quiet moment in a busy city. The judges praised her use of light and composition. She will receive a Sony Alpha 1 camera and $10,000.

First place in the Landscape category was awarded to James Oka from Japan. His image showed mist rolling over mountain peaks at sunrise. Second place went to Elena Petrova from Russia for a dramatic shot of storm clouds over a wheat field. Third place was claimed by Liam Byrne from Ireland with a photo of coastal cliffs under moonlight.

In the Portrait category, Aisha Ndiaye from Senegal took first place. Her image portrayed an elderly woman’s hands holding a child’s. Second place went to Diego Morales from Mexico for a street portrait full of color and life. Third place was awarded to Sophie Lin from Taiwan for a close-up of a dancer mid-performance.

The Wildlife category saw Thomas Reed from the United States win first place with a photo of wolves at dusk. Second place went to Fatima Al-Mansoori from the UAE for a desert fox caught in golden hour light. Third place was given to Henrik Larsen from Norway for a seabird diving into ocean waves.

All winning entries will be featured on Sony’s global website and social media channels. The contest received over 25,000 submissions from more than 100 countries. Sony says it continues to support visual storytellers through programs like this one.
